Byte Paradigm extends PC-based multi-function instrument family

eeProductCenter
Nivelles, Belgium — Byte Paradigm has expanded its GP Series of PC-based multi-function USB instruments with the introduction of the GP-24100 and GP-24200. Like their GP-22050 predecessor, the GP-24100 and GP-24200 generator/analyzers offer multiple modes of operation. They can be used as a digital pattern generator, logic/state analyzer, JTAG port controller, SPI exerciser and analyzer, and I2C exerciser and analyzer.

The GP-24100 and GP-24200 instruments deliver operation up to 100 MHz and 200 MHz respectively and provide 8-MByte memory for data buffering. When total transferred data exceed this buffer, the control software automatically streams data from/to the PC over the USB link at up to 30 MByte/s, extending the device memory with the PC memory.

Other features include two dedicated input/output clock pins and six control lines, used to manage I/O clocks, triggers, autonomous programmable repetitive sequences and static levels. An optional LVDS plug-in extension addresses possible signal integrity issues at high speed.

The new devices will be showcased at the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) 2008, April 15-17, at Booth #433.

Pricing: Approximately $1500 for the GP-24100 and $1800 for the GP024200.
Availability: Both instruments will be available in the third quarter of 2008. They are delivered with cables, 8PI control panel software, libraries and accessories; some modes of operation require additional license purchase.
