RTI Shapes Demo showcases RTI Data Distribution Service, the high-performance messaging middleware that implements a publish-subscribe communications model. With RTI Data Distribution Service, distributed applications can share real-time data without concern for physical location or network architecture. Based on the Object Management Group's (OMG) Data Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS) standard, RTI Data Distribution Service is optimized to provide high throughput with minimal latency. It provides fast, deterministic data delivery over standard Internet protocols. RTI Data Distribution Service is available with C, C++, and Java APIs. Included in the RTI Shapes Demo download are a demo executable and an accompanying tutorial. After installation, the demo executable and the tutorial will be accessible as shortcuts from the Windows desktop, as well as from the Windows Start menu. Launch the RTI Shapes tutorial to learn about RTI Data Distribution Service and get instructions on using the RTI Shapes Demo. The demo implements just a few capabilities of whatýs available in RTI Data Distribution Service, so if you like what you see and want to learn more, please contact Debbie Dasker at (408) 990-7446 for a guided demonstration of the full capabilities of RTI Data Distribution Service. To access the RTI Shapes Demo, please complete and submit the online registration form at www.rti.com/mk/shapes_demo.html. RTI will then email instructions on how to access the RTI Shapes Demo. Note: The RTI Shapes Demo software runs on Windows only.

SGV Sarc's Crystal Flow for C is a set of tools for visualizing, familiarizing, and documenting C source code. It displays flowcharts from source code, auto-formats code for improved readability, and provides a set of tools for browsing and navigation. You can create a cross-reference, javadoc-like document and view software metrics of your project. You can export flowcharts to document your code.
Target evaluation kits are available from Micro Digital for evaluation on common development boards. The kits support ARM, Coldfire, PowerPC, SH3/4, and X86 platforms. The self-extracting executables require a password, which you will receive when you sign the evaluation Agreement.
The JPA-SCPI Parser gives software engineers the ability to build a SCPI command language interface for their programmable instruments. SCPI (Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments) is the command language of choice of major manufacturers including Agilent, Fluke, and Tektronics. JPA-SCPI Parser is platform-independent and requires a minimum of ROM and RAM. Supplied as a set of ISO/ANSI C source code, JPA-SCPI Parser includes templates for 10 of the most popular types of instrument and comprehensive instructions to get you started.
The "empsyslogd" utility for Linux is a system monitoring and diagnostics tool that is a direct replacement to the daemon "syslogd." Used for system administration, "empsyslogd" prevents boundless growth of system logs, eliminates archiving of system messages, improves message search techniques, and provides a constant predefined persistent storage area for all system messages. "empsyslogd" is useful for systems deployed in an unattended mode.
SANKHYA Varadhi is an Object Request Broker, that conforms to Object Management Groups CORBA 2.2 (minimum CORBA) Specification. SANKHYA Varadhi comes in two editions: SANKHYA Varadhi XE, an embedded/cross platform edition, which provides a standards-based framework for building and deploying distributed systems; and SANKHYA Varadhi SE (standard edition), which can be used for minimum CORBA based distributed systems development. The tools and components provided by Varadhi manage the complexities of language, location and system/processor dependencies enabling the developers to concentrate on implementing the application logic in the client and server.
Synopsys' Virtual Platforms allow software developers to create and integrate embedded software, with full debug visibility into the system that is not possible in hardware kits. A virtual platform is a software model of the complete system - it is fast enough to boot operating systems and run application binaries. Virtual Platforms enable early software development and early hardware/software integration of embedded system designs. Check out the latest in virtual platforms on the web where you can download platforms for software development and integration.
Grammatech's CodeSurfer is an analysis and inspection tool that helps software developers and maintainers understand detailed dependence relations in source code. CodeSurfer provides access to a program's deep structure -- semantic properties and relationships discovered by global program analyses -- that conventional tools do not see. The demo requires a key to unlock (it will be e-mailed to you) and expires after 20 days.
RapidPLUS, from e-sim, is a human-machine interace (HMI) design and development tool. It allows you to develop interactive, virtual prototypes, precisely model the appearance and behavior of a product's HMI in a codeless, point-and-click environment without building hardware prototypes, generate product documentation, and automatically generate compact c-code for integration into actual human-machine interfaces.
IAR's IAR visualSTATE is a suite of fully integrated tools for the entire embedded software development process. It includes a UML-compliant graphical design environment, advanced verification and validation tools, and a very powerful code generator. When developing with visualSTATE the entire application is based on the design, and due to the unique technology it is possible to perform exhaustive testing and to generate reliable and production-ready C-code. The generated code is absolutely consistent with the design, it executes fully deterministically and is even more compact than handwritten code.
Perforce Software's Perforce 2004.2 is the newest version of their software configuration management system and a trial download (which is actually the full product) is offered free. If needed, technical support is available (via phone or e-mail) to everyone testing the product.
Keil Software's C51, C251, C166 and ARM evaluation tools
Keil Software offers 8051, 251, ARM7, and C16x/ST10 evaluation (or demonstration) tools that include the assembler, compiler, linker, debugger, and IDE. These tools allow you to evaluate the quality of the code generated by the Keil compiler, the speed and flexibility of the debugger, and the ease-of-use provided by the μVision2 IDE.
Hex Workshop v3.0 is an extremely easy to use, yet powerful Hex editor. It has all of the features you would expect plus integrated data interpretation and byte twiddling. Hex Workshop is a set of hexadecimal development tools for Windows that combines advanced binary editing with the ease and flexibility of a word processor. With Hex Workshop you can edit, insert, delete, cut, copy, and paste hex; print high quality customizable hex dumps; sector edit; and export to RTF, Text, or HTML for publishing. Additionally, you can goto, find, replace, compare, and calculate checksums within a file.
UNIS' Processor Expert is an application builder. The demo contains a tutorial, help, and examples, and shows how to use a component-oriented approach for embedded systems software creation. It introduces a new multilanguage open component format to encapsulate hardware and software entities of embedded systems.
National Instruments LabVIEW is the leading graphical programming language for instrumentation systems. LabVIEW allows rapid and intuitive program development for test and measurement, data acquisition and control, process monitoring, and automation.
CC-Rider is a C/C++ Source Code Visualization and Documentation tool that works with any editor, compiler or target code. Numerous graphical views of an application's structure penetrate code fast. Runs under both 16 and 32-bit Windows platforms.
QEDesign is a design tool for developing digital filters. QEDesign automatically implements the filter, showing filter response in time, frequency plots. Specifications can be changed easily, automatically updating the response plots. Optional assembly code generators target the filter to popular DSP chips.
